Merle is a World War 2 Veteran of the US Navy, he was a Chief Petty Officer as well as a Ham Radio Operator - he still enjoys using Ham Radio today. He worked for Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA until retirement.
He married his first wife Gloria McKinnon while he was stationed in Australia, he now lives with his second wife Marlyn Stubbe in California.
Merle was named after Merle Ebers and
Frank Ebers - the Ebers lived in Alpine, MI the same time Merle's grandfather
(John H. Snyder) did.
