BOURQUE, Albert F. - 79, Billerica, Mass., died March 9, 1999, as a result of a car-pedestrian accident. Born in Sluice Point, he was a son of the late Albert and Mary Jane Bourque. He worked at the Halifax Dockyard for several years before moving to New England where he was a self-employed contractor. He was an avid cribbage player, gardener and master wood craftsman. He is survived by his wife, the former Regina Surette; daughters, Cecile (Mrs. Paul Gorman), Dartmouth; Lorraine Hendrix, Nashua, N.H.; Patricia (Mrs. Paul Brouillard), Fairbanks, Alaska and Suzanne, Billerica, Mass.; sons, Raymond, Nashua, N.H., and Charles, Fairbanks, Alas.; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Merancy, Amboisine, Jane; brothers, Albany, Stanis, Alec, Jobe and infant daughter, Darlene. The funeral was held in St. Theresa's Church in Billerica on March 13, 1999, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Tweksbury, Mass. Born August 8, 1918, in Sluice Point, she was a daughter of Pierre Moise Muise and Marie Olive Thibault. She married F. Bernard Bourque on February 21, 1939, and they recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amiraults Hill. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her husband, F. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Sylveste LeBlanc and the late Mathilda Cormier. Imelda will be greatly missed by her daughters, Janice Gautreau (Marc), Dieppe, N.B.; Rhéa Bourque (Bob Ryan), Halifax; son, Claude (Annemarie French), Rothesay, N.B.; grandchildren, Martin, Anik, Isabelle, Sean and Danielle, and by special friend Rhéa Cormier, Montréal, Que. Besides her husband, Edmond (1988), she was also predeceased by her daughter, Claudette at birth, and by brother, Henri LeBlanc. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Yarmouth Co., he was a son of the late Joseph and Octavie Bourque. He was a carpenter. He was a veteran of the First World war, serving in France with the Canadian Infantry Expeditionary forces and was wounded three times. BOURQUE, Joseph (Eugene) - 83, Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac, Dayton, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Sluice Point, Yarmouth Co., died December 29, 1995, in the villa. Born at Sluice Point, he was a son of the late Arthur and Therese (Tracey) (Amirault) Bourque. He was a salesman for the former J. Pink and Co., Yarmouth, prior to retirement, and an honorary member of Knights of Columbus, Council 2181, Yarmouth. Surviving are brother, Albert, Yarmouth; sister, Margaret, Yarmouth; two nephews; three nieces. He was predeceased by seven infant brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. BOURQUE, Joseph P. - 82, Hoyte Street, Westville, passed away peacefully on December 14, 1999, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Westville, he was a son of Procule and Mary (Syr) Bourque. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Name, Westville. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35, Westville and was a member of the Pictou Highlanders serving overseas from 1942-1945 with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was employed as a coal miner all of his working life at the Allan Shaft, McBean and Drummond Mines retiring at age 68. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gardener most of his life. Joe will be sadly missed by his children, Joanna Hodgson (husband Jim), Dartmouth; Colleen Laing (husband Ron), Abercrombie; Kim (wife Wendy Hale), Westville; Leona Hall (husband Barry), Edmonton; Donald (wife Lori McLeod), Dartmouth; Joan Marie, Dartmouth. He is also survived by twin sister, Blanche Doyle (husband Charles), Westville; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Corbett; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Poplawski; sisters, Amelia Kennedy, Eva Brennan, Jennie Noel, Eva Steele and brothers, William, Fred and Maurice as well as two infant sisters. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. His funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, in the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, Rev. Leo Francois Bourque dies at 78 BOURQUE, Leo Francois - 78, West Pubnico, died November 3, 1992, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Sluice Point, Yarmouth County, he was a son of the late Etienne and Marie (Muise) Bourque. He served overseas during the Second World War with the mechanical engineers, Royal Canadian Electrical Corps. For the next three years he served with the Black Watch. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 66, West Pubnico. He had been a labourer with Inshore Fisheries until retirment. He is survived by his wife, the former Nathalie d'Entremont; two sons, Terry, Coldbrook, Kings County; Brian, at home; daughter, Janice (Mrs. Chester Goodwin), Middle East Pubnico; sister, Della, Massachusetts; five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Glenn; brother, Rene; sister, Bernadette. The body is in West Pubnico Funeral Home, visiting 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today. He was a chef with Canadian Pacific Railroad and with C.N. Marine ferry, M.V. Bluenose. He was the oldest member of Knights of Columbus, Msgr. W.A. Penney Council 2181, Yarmouth. He is survived by a sister, Marie-Helena, Lynn, Mass.; three grandsons. BOURQUE, Sister Margaret, R.G.S. - Passed away peacefully at the Convent of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Toronto, on April 6, 2006, after a short illness. Sister made her profession as a Sister of the Good Shepherd on November 21, 1943, in Halifax, serving in Halifax, Saint John, N.B.; Toronto, Vancouver, and Windsor, Ont. She was a daughter of the late Elisee Bourque and Nellie Muise of Amiraults Hill. Sister is survived by her sisters, Lillian Gordon, Yarmouth; Evelyn Frylink, Trois Rivieres, Que.; brothers, Stanley, Amiraults Hill; Leonard, Port Maitland; Louis, Brossard, Que.; niece, Judy Belliveau, Amiraults Hill, and many other nieces and nephews.
