An influential figure in the public life of his community, Mr. Kiefer served as city judge of Calexico for a number of years and also rendered valuable service to the cause of education as president of the school board. His religious faith is that of the Episcopal Church, while fraternally he is affiliated with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and with the Masons, belonging to Calexico Lodge, No. 412, F. & A.M., of which he was master for two years; and to El Centro Chapter, R.A.M. He has made many friends in the varied relations of life and is widely known as an exemplary, public-spirited and popular citizen.
