BIOGRAPHY: Irene was employed during WWII for RHEEMS in Los Angeles, CA, making "plastic" nose cones for bombers.

Irene married 1 (MRIN:514) William Wesley RIKE 2 about 1929. William was born 18 Feb 190/194. He died 15 Jul 1976 in Pottsboro, TX and was buried 2 in Preston Bend Cemetery, Grayson Co., TX.

BIOGRAPHY: Wm. W. was employed at the Consolidated Shipyards in Los Angeles, CA, constructing the "old" Liberty ships.   On the 1930 census, he is listed as a railroad car inspector.

231. Cleo B. NOWELL "Jackie" 1 (Colonel (Sam) , Willis B. , Cullen ) was born 1 Sep 1910 in Benton Co., TN. She died 25 Jun 1995 in Masa, AZ and was buried in Mt. Olivet Cem., Fort Worth, TX.

"Jackie" is listed on the 1930 census as a student nurse at the City County Hospital,in fort Worth City, Tarrant Co., TX.

DEATH: Jackie suffered from throat cancer and was the founder of "The Lost Cord Society" in Arizona.

Jackie was not married (1-MRIN:516) to Vernon Cortez STEWART 1. Vernon was born 10 Mar 1906 in Gainesville, Cooke Co., TX. He died about 1971 in Memphis, TN and was buried 2 in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Cooke Co., TX.

Vernon Cortez Stewart was mentally imcompetent and a resident of the Public Health Hospital in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX, for many years. In 1958, one of his twin sons, glen and Glen's wife Carol visited him on a returning trip from a Junior Chamber of Commerce Convention in Atlanta, GA.   Vernon did not know Glen, but mentioned he had a little boy named Glen and showed Glen a picture of himself when glen was 2 years old.   Vernon thought his sons were still young boys.

Joel states that he does not know if Jackie and vernon were ever married.

Zula was born 1 30 Jun 1911 in Whitesboro, Texas. She died 7 Apr 1995 in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas and was buried 1 in Mt. Olivet Cemetary, Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co., TX.

BURLESON - Zula C. Nowell, 83, a homemaker, died Friday at a Fort Worth nursing home.   Grave side service: 11 A.M. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.   Visitation: 5 to 6 P.M. today at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nowell was born in Sherman and lived in Fort Worth more than 60 years.   Survivors: Son, Wayne Nowell of Joshua; daughter Nelda Kaye Burton of Burleson; three sisters, Mary Godwin and Zeb Burden, both of Gainesville and Buelah Swindle of Oklahima City; six granchildren and seven great-granchildren.

FORT WORTH - George A. "Spook" Nowell, 74 a self-employed photographer, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, in fort Worth.   Graveside service: 3 P.M. Wednesday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.   Visitation: 6 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.   Memorials: American Cancer Society.
George A, "Spook" Nowell was born May 2, 1922, in Holladay, Tenn.   He was a longtime riverside resident.   Mr. Nowell was sergeant in the Army Air corps and received four bronze battle stars and three good conduct medals.
Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Margaret Nowell of Fort worth; sisters, Rose Haynes and Becky Ramondi, both of California; and granddaughter, Kenan Nowell of Fort Worth.   Mount Olivet Funeral Home 2301 N. Sylvania Ave., 831-0511.

OBITUARY of Iola Mae Kennon Bivens as found in the Camden Chronicle on 7/16/08:
  Funeral services for Iola Mae Kennon Bivens, of Texas, formerly of Camden, age, 101, will be held Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stockdale- Malin Funeral Home with Dean Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Benton Memory Gardens. Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home of Camden is in charge of arrangements.
  Mrs. Bivens passed away July 11 at her daughter’s home in College Station, Texas. She was born on May 5, 1907 to the late Clarence Harlan and Addie Nowell Kennon in Benton Co. She was a member of the Camden First United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford L. (Chick) Bivens, a sister Evola Kennon Stokes, and a baby brother, Ruel Kennon.
  She is survived by a son, John (Beverly) Bivens, of Germantown; three daughters, Camilla (John) Meador, of Franklin, Ky., Jane (David) Mayo, of College Station, Texas and Jean Eppler, of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
