Born: 16-May-1804Died: 27-Mar-1889 b. 16-May-1804 Harris CO Georgia. d. 27-Mar-1889 Pine Level Alabama. Buried in the Baptist Church Cemetary in Pine Level, AL.
Comments: Shepherd moved to Alabama from Georgia. He settled on a rice plantation, owned slaves and helped to develop Montgomery Co., AL. He was a devout Christian member of the Baptist Church, a Mason, and a noble true man. Was the father of 10 children and lived to a ripe old age. (Source: Mattie Lawrence Guice Evans, descendent and wife of J.E. Evans. In a letter written to her grandson Ronald Morgan, dated 4-Nov-1937, Mattie also says "I was personally acquainted and closely associated with each of these individuals and know what I write is true".
