Mrs. Clara MCELHANY, 77, of Hickory, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, July 25,
1959, in the Washington hospital following an illness of two weeks.
Mrs. MCELHANY was born February 11, 1882, in Chartiers Township, a daughter
of the late John and -ta SIMPSON CARLISLE. He had spent her entire life in
the Hickory-Houston area and was a member of Mt. Prospect Presbyterian
Surviving are two brothers, William CARLISLE of R. D. 3, McDonald, and
Harry CARLISLE of Charlotte, Mich.; two sisters Mrs. Anna Mc-nnell of
Houston and Miss Elva CARLISLE of Canonsburg; a stepdaughter, Miss Margaret
McELHANY of Hickory, and a step-son, William C. MCELHANY of Houston. Her
husband, W. T. MCELHANY died in 1952.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the family home in
Hickory in charge of the Rev. Richard A. MORLEDGE, pastor of the Mt.
Prospect Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery.
