Herbert G. VANKEUREN, 70, died Sunday night, March 22, 1931, in the home of
his daughter Mrs. James W. DONALDSON, 117 Center avenue, McDonald.  He had
been ill for several months.
 Mr. VANKEUREN was born in Riceville, Crawford county and had resided in
McDonald the past 35 years, working in the oil fields most of the time.  A
member of the Knights of Maccabees he was a district organizer of the order,
and at his death he was a commander of the McDonald tent.  He was also a
member of the First United Presbyterian church of McDonald.  Mrs. VANKEUREN
died in 1923.
 He leaves the following children:  T. H. VANKEUREN of Charleston, W. Va.,
C. R. VANKUREN of Tuttleman City, Calif., Mrs. C. E. MCDOWELL of
Monongahela, Mrs. James W. DONALDSON and Everett VANKEUREN of McDonald.
 Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Donaldson home in
charge of the Rev. S. A. MCCOLLAM who was assisted by the Rev. A. R.
ARMSTRONG.  Burial was in the Robinson's Run cemetery.
