Louis A. GAMONDE

VETERAN LOCAL BARBER TAKEN BY DEATH
 Death last week claimed the dean of the tonsorial trade in McDonald when
Louis A. GAMONDE died following an illness of about three months.
 Louis A. GAMONDE, 72, of East Lincoln avenue, McDonald, died a t2:00 a.m.,
Thursday, August 18, 1960, in the Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.
 He was born March 18, 1888, in France, and came to the United States at the
age of three.  He had been a resident of McDonald for the past 69 years and
had operated a barber shop for the past 50 years.
 Mr. GAMONDE was a member of the McDonald Fire Department and the
LaSolidarite Association of McDonald.
 He is survived by his wife, Lucy BELL GAMONDE; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond
WADE; a sister, Mrs. Bertha DANIELS, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Audrey
TURKILY, and Mrs. Robert MICHALAK, all of McDonald.  A son, John, died in
October, 1958.
 Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Pettit funeral home,
McDonald, in charge of the Rev. Edward R. DeLAIR, pastor of the First
Presbyterian Church, McDonald.  Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery.
