Jacob SPARKENBAUGH, 82, died Monday, February 25, 1952, in the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Paul VERCAMMEN, at Noblestown, following a three-day illness.
He was born March 4, 1870, in Armstrong county. He worked for many years
in both the Fayette and Carnegie coal mines. Mr. SPARKENBAUGH was a
resident of Noblestown for 43 years. His wife, Annie DIAMOND SPARKENBAUGH
died January 28, 1922. Five of their nine children are deceased.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mae TENNYSON and Mrs. Hazel LONGSTRETH,
both of Sturgeon, and Mrs. Wilma VERCAMMEN of Noblestown; a son, Benjamin
SPARKENBAUGH, of Noblestown, and a brother, George SPARKENBAUGH of Delmonte,
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Thomas funeral home,
Oakdale, in charge of the Rev. John T. RICHARDSON. Burial was in Robinson's
