Charles Haney PORTER, 59, formerly of McDonald, died at 8:17 a.m. Sunday,
July 13, 1947, in the Rochester hospital, following a 14-month illness.
A son of the late John S. and Rachel E. HANEY PORTER, he was born August 6,
1887, in Hookstown. Mr. PORTER had resided in Rochester for 23 years and
was a member of the Presbyterian church. He was employed as a millwright by
the Babcock & Wilcox Tube Co. Beaver Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Cora ENGLAND PORTER; three sons: David of West
Mayfield, Jack of Rochester, and Jay of Vanport; three brothers Everett
PORTER of Raccoon and James and Clair PORTER, both of McDonald, and a
sister, Miss Blanche PORTER of McDonald. There are five grandsons.
Funeral services were held Tuesday July 15, from the Coleman Funeral Home,
Rochester, in charge of the Rev. Milford W. CASTRODALE. Burial was in
Robinson's Run cemetery, McDonald.
