Mrs. Elizabeth Lillian CARSON, Wife of the late Rev. S. W. CARSON, for 15
years pastor of the Gladden U. P. church, was found dead in bed about 10:00
a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 1947, in her home, McKee Place, Noblestown road.
Mrs. CARSON had been in ill health for a number of years and had been to a
Pittsburgh physician on Monday. When two of her neighbors, Mrs. Robert
MOODY and Mrs. Frank MULLOOLY, noticed that her door had not been opened
Tuesday morning they went to investigate. Obtaining no response to their
knocking, they summoned a man who was working on a nearby road and a local
physician who gained entrance through a window and it was thought that Mrs.
CARSON had been dead several hours.
She had recently completed plans for going to England to reside with a
brother and sister, and was to have sailed September 1.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending the arrival of a sister from
Canada. Burial will be in Robinson's Run cemetery.
