Joseph J. Eschman, 88, 169 Logan NE, a retired Grinnell employee, died at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs Thomas Shellenberger, 1641 Bryn Mawr Rd., East Cleveland. Mr. Eschman had been in failing health for the past nine months.
Born June 4, 1864, in Sharpsburg, Pa., he was a member of St. Mary's Church, Holy Name Society and Knights of St. George Lodge. His wife, the former Mary Anna Schaedelbauer preceeded him in death.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry Bardy, Leavittsburg; Mrs Thomas Shellenberger and Miss Pauline Eschman, Columbus; two sons, Leo E. and Charles H., both of Warren; two sisters, Mrs Elizabeth Schmidt, Warren, and Mrs Henry Lutz, Leavittsburg; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call anytime at the Gillen Funeral Home anytime after 7 tonight.
