BUCKLEY, Gordon W., Indiana Township, 2001
Gordon W. Buckley, 65, of Indiana Township, formerly of New Kensington,
died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, in his home. He was born April 22, 1935, in
New Kensington. A three-year veteran of the Marines Corps, Mr. Buckley was
a manufacturing engineer who retired after 39 years from Westinghouse Corp.,
where he was a credit union board member and fire chief.
He was a charter member of Allison Park Assembly of God Church, where he
was a 20-year board member; a member of Royal Ranger APAG chapter, where
he was district commander, aide-de-camp of the national board and head
sound board technician; a member of Dorseyville, Guyasuta and Fox Chapel
fire departments, and member of the Indiana Township Zoning Board. He also
was a volunteer paramedic, emergency medical technician and CPR and first
Mr. Buckley was recipient of the Lifetime History Maker Award and enjoyed
traveling abroad and participating in various international mission trips.
Survivors include his wife, Anna E. Hiller Buckley; three sons, Gordon P.
Buckley of Cooperstown, the REV. DAVID A. BUCKLEY of Pecs, Hungary, and the
Rev. Jay K. Buckley of Winchester, Va.; a daughter, Carol A. Kummer of Ross;
six grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn A. Buckley of Jeannette and Norman R.
Buckley of Bridgeville; a sister, Bertha Weimer of East McKeesport; and a
stepbrother, Donald Schink of White Oak.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Alfred and Naomi Schink
Buckley. Friends were received in the Neely Funeral Home, Shaler. A memorial
service was conducted in Allison Park Assembly of God Church by the Rev.
Jeff Leake. Memorial contributions can be made to The Gordon Buckley
Memorial Royal Ranger Pavilion Fund c/o the church.
