The Battle of Guilford Courthouse was fought on 15 Mar 1781 inside present day Greensboro, North Carolina. Nathanael Greene suffered a technical defeat against the British forces under Lord Cornwallis, but the cost to the British was sufficient to win a strategic victory for the Patriots.
