bullet Jurgen (George) H. KEISER was born on 23 Jul 1837 in Firrel, Hanover, Germany. He resided at From (Madison County) Southern Illinois to Ellinwood, Barton, KS in 1876. The Ellinwood Leader, Thursday, December 26, 1901, Number 41, Volume VIII: G.H. Kaiser Five Miles South of the City of Ellinwood.Om 1867 there came from southern Illinois, a sturdy young farmer with his family. He purchased railroad land five miles southeast of Ellinwood, on sections 9 and 15. Comanche Township, building him a substantial home on the Kansas prairie. The country was just beginning to be developed then, and after seven years of farming here, George H. Kaiser, lured by the glittering reports from the Pacific coast, sold his Barton county home and moved to Santa Cruz, California. he soon found "all that glitters is not gold." and disposing of his interests there moved to the Ozark country, near West Plains, MO. He remained there but a brief period, when his thoughts and footsteps again turned to his old love-Kansas. He purchased a quarter section of railroad land five miles south of Ellinwood, where he now resides, and again, in 1855, erected a home on what was then but a prairie. There is a handsome house, large barn, granary, implement sheds, etc. all conceniently arranged. Mr. Kaiser's particular pride is his fine orchard of 12 acres, in which there flourishes some two thousand fruit trees in bearing, and a vinyard. Cherry, peach, plum, pear, apricot and apple trees predominate, but two former, together with the grapes are the surest and most prolific crop. People come many miles to purchase fruif from the Kaiser orchard, and the owner finds it pleasant and profitable industry. There are also a number of fine shade trees on the place, the mulberry and locust predominaating. Mr. Kaiser also pays considerable attention to hog raising, deriving a steady income from this source each year. He has never had a complete failure of wheat or corn, and though he farms but one quarter section, he so diversifies his interests that the farm always pays a handsome yearly profit. Mr. Kaiser is a type of the successful Kansas farmer. He has made the sandy prairie, which but a few years ago was considered a barren wast, blossom as the rose. He resided at Comanche Township, Barton Co, KS in 1882. Section 9, Town. 20 Range 11 west of Sixth Prin. Meridian.
George worked in Alton, Madison Co. IL with his brother Ira as a young man. Later he went to Kansas to farm. His sister Minnie (Irma Alutmia Kaiser) and her husband Charles Augusta Willms followed George to Kansas, farming also. He died in 1911. He had the following children Four children living in 1901.
