Hi, come on in, it is time for a quilting bee, and some talk on genealogy which helps to make the needles fly. Many families have some quilt stories and so do I, see the page on the Sparks quilt. Also, stop by and see the memorial quilt for the NH church.
I started quilting about 5 years ago when my sister wanted to teach her girls and the rest of the homeschoolers in our area. We were lucky to find a neighbor, Emily, that had quilted since a child to teach us. We started with nine patches, even the boys joined in. We made enough squares for each family to have their own quilt and the local museum displayed them in their quilt show that year. Boy, were the kids excited. There were enough patches left over for me to make 2 small quilts for my daughter and son. My son was in the Air Force at that time and a long ways from home. Quilts provide more than warmth for the body but for the soul, also. I hope you enjoy my quilts as much as I did making them.
Besides the Sparks quilt passed down, our family was blessed to have many photographs, letters and family history passed down. I have been trying to identify the pictures and sort out the notes and letters. My mother identified some before her death which has helped. My great-grandmother had done some family research so I have had a lot to start with, still working on documentation. The following pages will share with you some of that heritage.
My husband, Paul , and I own a farm and raise sheep, chickens, cats, and 2 dogs. Paul does lapidary and jewelry repair. See our farm page at Woolcroft Farms
