Laird and partook of a very sumptuous repast.

The house was beautifully decorated with ferns, vines and evergreens. The bride and groom and attendants filed into the spacious parlor to the strings of the Wedding March played by Miss Mabel Orgain of Lone Oak.
The bride was beautifully attired in an embroidered net over cream satin gown while the groom was dressed in the conventional black.
The bride's going-away gown was of blue velvet with a hat to match. They were the recipients of many beautiful and useful presents.
The groom is a progressive farmer, a cattleman of near Murfreesboro and the bride is a daughter of Mr. G.W. Gilpin, a prosperous merchant well-known in this city.
The young couple will make their home near Murfreesboro.

Reverend R.E. Travis officiating. Upon its conclusion Mr. Wyatt departed for Richmond, Kentucky, where he will accept a place on the engineering corps of the Chesapeake & Ohio Rail Road. When comfortably domiciled in his new quarters his pretty bride will join him. The LEAF feels especially interested in the future of Mr. Wyatt, who formerly was one of the most valued compositors. He is a most deserving young man, possessing energy and intelligence, and luckily for him he has chosen for a wife a young lady who will prove a loving companion and helpmate for life. After the ceremony the bridal party and a number of their friends assembled at the bride’s home, where they passed a delightful evening and partook of the good things prepared for their enjoyment by the hospitable host. Next day, at the home of the bridegroom’s father, Levi Cooper, a feast was also spread, and a happy throng gathered to take part in the festivities.

The wedding will be a quiet one, witnessed by only a few friends, in a short time thereafter Mr. & Mrs. Patch will take their departure for Chicago. These young people have spent much of their lives in this city, where they became warmly attached to each other, and their numerous friends will be gratified that their plighted vows have been thus happily consummated. The bridegroom is the eldest son of our township, A.H. Patch and for a number of years has been a resident of Chicago, where he has a lucrative business. The Bride is the daughter of W.D. Merriwether, also one of our well known citizens. She is highly esteemed among her acquaintances as a young lady of many noble traits of character, whose removal from our midst will be sincerely regretted by those who know her best.
