Massie Straton "Mammy Mass" Fambrough was the daughter of Agnes Steel Fambrough and Richard Fambrough. She moved to Tennessee from Georgia around 1855. She lived in a cabin with her kids during the Civil War. Union soldiers came through and burned her cabin down and she built it back by herself. She was widowed at the time.
