Alice P. Byard was born February 27,1908 and died January 3,2007. She was the daughter of the Reverend W.F. Powers and Ada Peak Moore Powers and the wife of Alfred F. Byard Sr. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ann Patton.
Ms. Alice came to Clarksville in 1935 and served as Home Demonstration Agent with UT Extension until May 1939. During WWII, she was Middle Tennessee Supervisor for Nursery Schools. She taught in all three original high schools and taught Vocational Home Economics at Montgomery Central High School for 22 years, retiring in 1972. Ms. Alice was a volunteer and taught Red Cross Home Nursing for 26 years. She also volunteered with the Reach to Recovery program and served as President of Home Economics Club and Democratic Women's Club and was known as Ms. Democrat throughout the county.

Elbert Franklin Ferrell Sr was the son of Frank Patrick Ferrell and Allie Ann Bentley Ferrell. He was married to (1) Martha Baggett Ferrell (2) Rosie Smalley Ferrell. He was preceded in death by his son, Elbert Franklin Ferrell Jr. Mr. Ferrell was a Master Mason and 50-year member of Slayden Lodge No. 445. He retired from the civil service at Fort Campbell and from Montgomery County Schools driving a school bus, and enjoyed raising beef cattle on his farm. A veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II where he was severely injured during a plane crash.
