Miss McDevitt Becomes Bride of Harry Kagemann Miss Blanche McDevitt, daughter of Harry McDevitt of DeWitt, became the bride of Harry Kagemann of Wheatland Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the rectory of St. James' church, Toronto. The Rev. Martin Horan, officiated using the single ring ceremony. Mrs. Louis McCaffey of Wheatland, cousin of the bridegroom, and Paul McDevitt of DeWitt, brother of the bride, attended the couple. The bride was attractive in coral pink pebble crepe made with a lace yoke, and matching accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of white carnations and pink sweet peas. The matron of honor was attired in grey crepe and her corsage was of white carnations and yellow gypsophillia. The bride was a graduate of the Elvira school in 1938 and the bridegroom attended the Wheatland schools. After a brief wedding trip, the couple will be at home on a farm south of Lowden. A buffet reception in their honor will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in DeWitt K of C Hall with a dance to follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the courtesy. The Kagemanns are the parents of nine children, Wayne of Calamus; David of Low Moor, Bill of Grand Mound; Alan, Edward, Paul and Jerry, all of DeWitt; and Marty and Mrs. Mary Ellen Gelaude, both of Delmar. They have 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. June 5, 1985 DeWitt Observer (with a photo of the couple) Lawlor P. and Gwendolwyn J. McDevitt of DeWitt will be honored at a family dinner to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. The former Gwen Harper and Mr. McDevitt were married in September 1942 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. McDevitt was employed at Cheney Implement in DeWitt, retiring in 1986 after 26 years. Mrs. McDevitt was employed as a clerk at Youngs Shoe Store and Walker's Department Store in DeWitt, retiring in 1986 after 30 years. They are the parents of Jim.
