JOHN L. BOATRIGHT (son of Friend & Lydia Sparks)

Boatright, grandson of Thomas & Amy Rushing Boatright) :

 

Served in The Army of The Republic of Texas (exact date/rank unknown)

and was awarded 640 acres of land in 1860 for his service of "Special

Act".  Recorded in Bounty & Donation Land Grants of Texas 1835-1888.

 

 

 

 

"Mexican War Military"

 

JOHN L. BOATRIGHT (same as above) served in the Mexican War 1846-1848,

Sutton's Co, Bell's Regiment, Texas Mounted Volunteers".  Pension #

C20329 was paid.  Information recorded in "Texas Veterans Mexican War,

Muster Rolls of Texas Military Units, complied by Charles Spurlin".

 

I sent you another e-mail concerning JLB's CSA military history.  Guess

I'm just proud to have a G-Grandfather such as John L. Boatright.  He

was the very essence of the Spirit of Texas.
