ROBERT S. HYNES DIES

Captain Robert S. HYNES after an illness extending over a period of many months departed this life on the 12th day of June at the home of his sister in Cleveland, Ohio, with his wife at his side.

The body was prepared for burial and shipped to this city for interment, arriving here Sunday morning.On Sunday afternoon the funeral took place from the Presbyterian Church, the service conducted by Rev. M.McN. McKay, of Ft. Smith.He was laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery.

He was the son of William M. and Mary HYNES and was born in Canada in (Feb. 12)1845.His father was a native of Dublin, Ireland and received a classical education in England.In 1820 he immigrated to Canada, where he taught in the lower Canada College.In 1864 came to the U.S., in 1871 located in Bentonville, Arkansas where he established THE AVANCE newspaper and sold it in 1879 and purchased the Crawford County Bank and other businesses(mentioned in the article).

In 1873 he married Miss Kate RILEY, daughter of Dr. Willshire RILEY, a prominent citizen of Little Rock.Three children Willshire, Linzee and Robert S. Jr. blessed this union.(article was cut short)
