Welcome to the Newnan Family History Center web site! The Newnan Family History center is located in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints church building at 821 Old Atlanta Highway, in Newnan, Georgia. For Directions to our facility, CLICK HERE. Hours: We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 4pm, and on Saturdays from 9am to Noon. We are closed on some holidays and may have limited hours during the summer, so please call or email before you come! What We Have: We have a large collection of Civil War books, as well as many other books for Georgia, Rhode Island, North Carolina, South Carolina and much more. We also have a large collection of microfilms with births, marriages and deaths for numerous towns in Italy, Sicily, Poland, and more. For a full listing of the items we have permanently in our Family History Center, please follow the links on the left hand tool bar for Library Holdings and Civil War Library. Please remember that our library holdings change every week as more films or books are added to our collection and this online list may not contain everything we currently have. If you don't see something you are interested in on our list, feel free to call or email and find out if we have it! For a small fee we can order any microfilm or microfiche you may need from the Main Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. To find out what films are available, search the Family History Library Catalog. How We Can Help With Your Genealogical Research: All of our volunteers have extensively researched their own families and can help you get started and/or offer advice and suggestions that will assist you with your research. They will do their very best to make your visit to the History Center as rewarding as it can be. In addition, we have several regular patrons of the Newnan Family History Center that specialize in different areas of research. If you need help with Polish, English, Scottish or Italian ancestry, please come to the History Center and talk with them. Tools for Researching: The Newnan Family History Center has four computers available to patrons. These computers have FREE access to Ancestry.com and other genealogy web sites. In addition, we have three microfilm viewers, one microfiche viewer, and a microfilm/microfiche copy machine.
Fees that you may incur at the Family History Center: Film Orders-$6.00. For this fee, a film will be ordered for you and after it's arrival you will have 30 days to view the film as much as you would like. Film Renewals-$6.00. Films can be renewed one time to extend their time at the history center for 60 more days. A second renewal will allow the films to stay indefinitely at the Newnan Family History Center. Microfiche Orders-15 cents each. Microfiche stay indefinitely at the FHC. Copies from microfilm/microfiche-25 cents per page Copies from the Computer-10 cents per page
