.B Henry NEFF was born about 1675 in Pfalz, Germany, Ibersheimer Hof?. Henry died about Mar 1749/1750 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp, (Manor Twp.). He married Barbara ___ before 1710. She was born about 1690 in Pfalz, Germany. Barbara died about 1760 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. They had 8 children listed in Henry’s will dated April 17, 1749. (See generation 2)

Note: In the Daniel I. Rupp’s Lancaster County History, 1884, page 906 and in Elmer Neff’s book on the Neffs in Huntington County, Henry Neff B is listed as a son of Dr. Francis Neff A1 but these are mistakes. William A. Neff has a deed showing a land purchase by Henry Neff on Oct 1717 in Whitmarsh Twp., then Chester Co., PA. He and Barbara sold this property in 1722 and moved to Hempfield Twp. Lancaster Co. PA. His will is recorded in Lancaster under the name Henry Neave in Will Book J, Vol. 1, page 158. This will lists the children in the order that follows in generation 2. There is no way that he can be a son of Dr. Francis Neff A1.

Judging from the surnames associated with this family in Pennsylvania, it appears that they came from Pfalz, Germany, Ibersheimer Hof. In the Mennonite census for that Hof in 1687 is a Henry Neff with 4 children who was Henry’s father if they came from there. Just when they arrived is a question. They may have come earlier than 1717 as there is a John Nave in the 1708 tax records of Chester Co., PA.

.B1 Magdalena NEFF was born about 1711. She married Henry STRICKLER in Lancaster Co., PA. He was born about 1710 in Lancaster Co., PA, ?. Henry died 1761 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. They had 4 known children.

.B2 Barbara NEFF was born about 1713. Barbara died about 1760 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. She married John SHOPE. He was born about 1705/1710. John died 1752 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. They had 4 known children.

Possible children Ulrich, Henry, Catherine, Maria from the notes on Shope family line from Edna B. Diller, Arroyo Grande, CA.

.B3 Henry NEFF was born about 1715. Henry died before 15 Feb 1777 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. He married Magdalena BARE. She was born about 1717 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. Magdalena died before 11 Jan 1777 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. They had 9 known children. His Will is X-2-21 Lancaster Co. PA.

.B4 Elizabeth NEFF was born about 1717 in Whitmarsh Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. She married Christian WELTY. Christian died 1749 in Lancaster Co., PA. They had 6 known children.

.B5 John NEFF was born about 1719 in Whitmarsh Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. John died 1760 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. He married (1) Elizabeth KAUFFMAN about 1740 in Lancaster Co., PA. She was born about 1723 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. Elizabeth died about 1753 in Lancaster Co., PA, Manor Twp. They had 5 known children.

John married (2) Catherine GERBER about 1755. She was born about 1720/1725. Catherine died 1769 in Lancaster Co., PA. Known children of this marriage are: Magdalena Mary NEFF b. about 1756/1757 and John NEFF born before 1760 because he was named in his father’s estate in 1760. This John is possibly the L-Line but at this point we have no proof.

.B6 Susannah NEFF was born about 1721 in Whitmarsh Twp, Montgomery Co., PA. Susannah died 1777 in York Co., PA, Hellam Twp, and was buried in York Co., PA, Hellam Twp., Strickler Cem. She married Abraham FLURY. He was born before 1719. Abraham died 1777 in York Co., PA, Hellam Twp, and was buried in York Co., PA, Hellam Twp., Strickler Cem. There are 14 known children of Susannah NEFF and Abraham FLURY.

.B7 Daniel NEFF was born about 1725 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. Daniel died 1768 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. He married Christiana ERB. She was born 1733 in Lancaster Co., PA. Christiana died 11 Mar 1806 in Huntingdon Co., PA, West Twp, and was buried in Huntingdon Co., PA, Logan Twp., Neff Cem. 6 known children

Burial info from Lancaster Mennonite Heritage Magazine 1/89, pg 21 Tombstone inscription, Neff Cemetery, gives date of death and age 73 years. Estate settled 1768, Lancaster Co., Orphans court records. Kauffman – Coffman Book gives the date of death as 1768,.

.B8 Jacob NEFF was born about 1727 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp., (Manor Twp.). Jacob died about 1798 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. He married (1) Anna KAUFFMAN. She was born about 1730 in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. Anna died in Lancaster Co., PA, Hempfield Twp. 7 known children
