The best way to start my Kindle family is to start with my grandmother. Her name was Evelyn May Kindle Gilmore Vogt. She was born May 23, 1920 in Bowdoin, Montana. A place with an interesting history itself. She married Eldon Gilmore , June 28, 1938 in Malta, Montana. This union was blessed with the birth of two children. It also had many hardships that made the marrige difficult to maintain so they were divorced in 1954.

She then met and married John William "Jack" Vogt on September 20, 1955 in Havre, Montana. This marriage produced two daughters. It is through all these children Evelyn lives on. Evelyn passed away on August 14, 1997 after almost 77 years on this earth.

This poem was written in her honor.

A Tribute To Evelyn Vogt For Her Children

by Madeleine Gilmore

A person's true worth cannot really be judged
Until the day after they've left us
Then time has run out, no more actions or deeds
Can be counted up...for or against

Evelyn left us last night, now her worth will be tallied
By her children, her family, her friends,
The consensus today by those gathered to mourn;
She was a person of so many talents.

In the humblest of means her life had its start,
Where each need was arduously met,
In the worst of conditions, by the hardest of labor,
One toiled for each goal that they set.

She was never too busy to have a good laugh
Or cry, if that's what teh moment required,
Her smile was sincere and so was the tear,
And to visit she was never to tired.

She didn't stop working til yesterday,
Her home, her land were her life-force,
She invested her life in her Skyline farm,
Good business was her matter of course.

Does she sound to perfect? No room for flaws?
Well faults she certainly had such,
Though wracking my brain to remember a couple,
Well...they couldn't have amounted to much.

To tally her worth as a human and woman
One needs only to look at her children,
They're upright and honest, learned from their mother,
For she was truly a TRUE, WORTHY, PERSON.
