


Obituary published in the Goldsboro News-Argus on Tuesday, July 24, 1934:
J. R. Mooring, 75, of Whittaker's, died Sunday morning at the Goldsboro Hospital, shortly after 10 o'clock. Mr. Mooring was taken to the Hospital following an attack of colitis late Saturday evening.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Falling Creek church, Grantham township, by Rev. E. L. Parker at 2:30 Monday afternoon. Interment will take place in the cemetery of the Falling Creek Church.
The survivors are one son, Blainey Mooring of Goldsboro, and one grandson, J. T. Mooring of Whittaker's.
Mr. Mooring had come from Whitaker's for the purpose of purchasing a tombstone for his wife who died recently, and was visiting at the home of his nephew near Toler's Bridge.
