By the Court

To the Honorable Charles Horton Esq and his associates Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the County of Centre, in the fourth Judicuary District of Pennsylvania composing and holding a Court of Common Pleas for the said County of the Term of November 1821.

The Petition of Thew Johnston Junior in which he begs leave to file the following registry of himself viz:-

That he was born on the thirteenth day of January A. D. 1795 in Yorkshire in the Kingdom of England from whence he emigrated on the twenty second day of July 1801 and arrived in the City of Philadelphia on the 22nd day of September of the same year and has selected the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the place of his settlement and has ever since his arrival in the United States resided in the County of Lycoming & Clearfield. That he is now a resident of the County of Clearfield. That he is by trade a farmer. is now aged twenty six years, is five feet ten inches in heighth and ** complexion light hair. That he further declares that it is ** bona fide his intention to become a citizen of The United States and of the said Commonwealth & to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate or Sovereignty whatever and particularly to the King of The Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland of where he is now a subject.

That he was born in Yorkshire in the Kingdom of England on the fourteenth day of January 1797 from which he emigrated on the twenty second day of July 1801 and arrived in the City of Philadelphia in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the twenty second day of September of the same year and has selected the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the place of his settlement and has selected the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as the place of his settlement and has ever since his arrival in the United States resided in the Counties of Lycoming and Centre and is now a resident of Centre County. That he is by trade a farmer, is now aged twenty four years, is five feet eight inches high fair complexion, light hair. That he further declares that it is his intention bona fide, to become a citizen of The United States and of the said Commonwealth and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate or Sovereignty whatever and particularly to the King of The Kingdom of Great Britain & Ireland of wh*** he is now a subject.

Also at the same court, Robert Collins a native of that part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland called "Ireland" and now an inhabitant of the County of Clearfield, preferred his petition praying to be admitted a citizen of the United States; andin open court on his solemn oath did declare that he never was of any of the orders of nobility, or had borne any hereditary title in the country from whence he emigrated, that he did entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign prince, potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to George the third, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, to whom he was heretofore a subject; and that he would support the constitution of the United States; And it moreover appearing to the satisfaction of the said court (by the affidavit of John Turk filed with said petition) that he is well acquainted with the said petitioner Robert Collins, that to his knowledge, he, the said Robert Collins was residing within the limits and under the Jurisdiction of the United States before the 14th day of April 1802, and for more than five years last past, and also for more than one year last past in the State of Pennsylvania, and that during the said period has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. Whereupon the court admitted the said Robert Collins to become a citizen of the United States, agreeably to act of Congress, passed the fourteenth day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and two entitles "an act to establish a uniform rule of naturalization and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject"; and the act in addition thereto, passed the twenty sixth day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred & four.

Also at the same Court to wit the 24th day of August A.D. 1808. William Barr a native of the Kingdom of Ireland and now an inhabitant of said County of Centre preferred his petition praying to be admitted a citizen of the United States ** and in open court on his solemn oath did declare that he never was of any of the orders of nobility or had borne any hereditary title in the country from whence he emigrated, that he did entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince potentate state or sovereignty whatever & particularly to George the Third King of Great Britain & Ireland to whom he was heretofore a subject and that he would support the constitution of the Unites States. And it moreover appearing to the satisfaction of the courty (by the affidavit of Philip Benner filed with said petition) that the said William Barr had resided fore more than five years last past inthe Unites States & for more than one year last past in the State of Pennsylvania that he was a person of good moral character attached to the principles of the constitution of the Unites States & well disposed to the good order & happiness of the same. Whereupon the court admitted the said William Barr to become a citizen of the United States & of the State of Pennsylvania agreeably to the act of Congress passed the fourteenth day of March A.D. one thousand eight hundred & two entitles "an act to establish a Uniform rule of Naturalization and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject," and the act in addition passed the 26th day of March 1808.

PENNSYLVANIA, Centre County, ss:

At a Court of Common Pleas holden in Bellefonte, in and for Centre County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, on the ninth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Forty Seven, on the Petition of William Holden an alien, and a native of England being presented and read, signifying his intention of becoming a citizen of the United States agreeably to the provisions of the acts of Congress in such cases made and provided, he, the said William Holden, having in open Court, taken and subscribed the oath according to law, was permitted to file his said petition, declaration of intention, registry, and report accordingly, and the same are also filed and registered.

In Witness Whereof, I, Jn T. Hoover, Prothonotary of Said Court, have hereunto set m hand and seal at Bellefonte the same day.
