Jones, William L.
Service: Civil War, 123rd Regiment, Company A. My great-grandfather
William L. Jones served in Company A, 123 Indiana Volunteers from
Greensburg, Indiana, Decatur County, from 14 November 1863 to 25
August 1865. He was born in Franklin County, Indiana April 1829, died
29 July 1910 in soldiers home in Marion County, Indiana. He is buried in
Crown Hill Cemetery, veterans section, grave #1176.
He married Abigail Appleton in Franklin county 02 February 1848.
They had seven children
John L. 09-09-1849;
Sarah A. 05-03-1851;
Phylander 02-27-1853;
William L. 11-27-1857;
Samuel O. 01-21-1855:
Elza 1862; and
Thomas E. 05-17-1866.
He received a civil war pension.
Discharged at Lexington, N.C. 08-25-1865.
