this morning we marched out of the fort on the north and turned to the left and campt

Wednesday 14
lay in the Arkansaw Rivr all day on the boats Wrote to my wife this day

Thursday 15
Heavey snow storm, leave for the Missippi at 2 o clock

Friday 16
Arrived in the Missippi Rivr at 10 o clock out of the Arkansaw Rivr and landed at Napolion, on Picket

Saturday 17
on Picket betwene the Arkansaw River and the Missippi Rivr at Napolion

Sunday 18
Left Napolion at 9 o clock and went down the Missippi Rivr

Monday 19
Going down the the Missippi Rivr

Tuesday 20
Going down the Missippi Rivr

Wednesday 21
landed at Miligans Bend Wrote home No 17

Thursday 22
disembarked on the Louisana Side 9 miles a bove viscburg and marched down to the Canall of Butter Detailed on Picket

Friday 23
on picket all day and went out on a scout with 5 men and went with in a quarter of a mile of the Rivr and sen viscburg they sheld us all day.

Saturday 24
Rainy all day and I worked 2 ours on the canal I Received a leter from My Wife and Brother

In camp all day near Butters canal and worked 2 ours on the canal

Monday 26
Campt on Butters Canal front of viscburg. I went to the boat, it raind all knight

Tuesday 27
in camp near Butters canal cold and the wind blew hard all day, the water is 20 feet wide 7 feet deep

To Work in the Canal Wether rainey and cold
