Tragic Logging Accident

(The Following article was transcribed by Daniel F. Johnson from the Moncton Times, 18 Dec 1877.)

 

On Thursday, a sad accident occurred at Salmon River, Alma (Albert Co.) While a number of workmen were engaged in launching logs off a boom about 3/4ths of a mile above Alma Lumber Co. mills, a rolling log struck Alexander KILPATRICK on the neck and head killing him instantly.
