Centreville (Carleton Co.)

July 30

- About fifty years ago four brothers, John KILPATRICK, Andrew KILPATRICK, James KILPTRICK and Joseph KILPATRICK, when quite young men, came from Ireland and settled on the wilderness land in the parish of Wicklow. Here by hard work, honesty and strict economy, the became respected and prosperous farmers. They all raised families wh inherited their father's good qualities. Nearly all located in this county. John, by hard work and disadvantages incident to pioneer life, became mentally unfit for business and died some years ago. Three years ago, James, when starting for home from Florenceville, suddenly expired in his carriage. Joseph, whop had lately complained of weakness, went to his bed to rest and there on Friday 26th inst., suddenly expired. These brothers belonged to the Presbyterian Church of Greenfield where they worshipped under the pastorate of Rev. Fiske.
