This book by Father Sweeney lists all of the old townlands and villages in Castleconor parish, Sligo Ireland between the years 1835 and 1855. The book is arranged alphabetically by townland/village names and also contains many interesting stories about the villages, parish priests, families resident, customs, traditions and ghost stories. It is a fascinating glimpse into the life of our ancestors in Castleconor between the years 1835 and 1855. Under each townland/village Father Sweeney lists couples who had their children baptised in the Caragaree Catholic Church during this time period. He does not list the children they had baptised, but the list is a good indicator that further research in the Castleconor parish will be worth while. The book also contains many family trees of the people still residing in the area, tracing their ancestry back to the early 1800s. Nineteen Boland couples also have a list of their descendants in this book. Many other people such as Brennan, Donegan, Howley, Sweeney, Reap, Kennedy and heaps more are mentioned as well. It is a great source if you have ancestors from the Castleconor area.
