The Thomas and Pritchards
The Thomas'
I have been able to place the Thomas family back to 1841 with the aid of the 1841 census.
They can be found at Fodol Ganol Farm, Bangor. In residence is Owen Thomas,
wife Elizabeth, their three sons Robert, William and Owen and servant Elizabeth Williams.
By the 1861 census Owen has a second wife - Jane and two more children - Richard and Mary. They are found at
Fodol Ganol. His son Robert Thomas is also a farmer by 1861 and farming is still in the family today.
The Pritchards'
The Pritchards' were welcomed into the family following the marriage of Owen Thomas' grandson Robert Thomas to
Margaret Jones, niece of William and Mary Pritchard. Margaret was born in Gerlan, Bethesda and is with
the Pritchards' in the 1881 census of Bangor, 19 years old and a shop attendant in her uncle's shop. At present I
am reseaching the Pritchard line.
