       Pierce A. (Monte) Munselle, born December 17, 1918 in Brown County, Texas, passed from life on March 14, 2004, at his home in Midland, Texas at the age of 85 years, 2 months, and 27 days.
       Monte served in the CC'C prior to his term in the military. He
       was given an honorable discharge from Battery P 901st. Anti-
       aircraft Artillery (AW) Vattalion, with specialty in the Military
       Police. He was given an Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Metal with
       one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, one Service Stripe on
       Five overseas Bars.
       He married Leona Crawford in September, 1946, and they were blessed with two children, Freddie P. Munselle and Vickie
       Munselle Cates. Monte and Leona were later divorced, and
       he married Dorthy P. Crowder on January 19, 1976.
       Monte was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Munselle;
       his son, Freddie Munselle; both of his parents, Fred and Grace
       Munselle; and one great-granddaughter, Kourtney R. Cates.
       He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Jim
       Cates of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Helen Reed of Dublin, Texas, and Audrey (Babe) Aldridge, a long-time resident of Carlton, Texas; three grandchildren, Freddie H. Cates and his
       wife Barbara and Robin R. Cates, all of Midland, and Ricky
       Pierce Cates and his wife Leigh Ann of Odessa; four great-
       grandchildren, Robert H. Cates and DeAnna K. Cates, both of
       Midland, Magnum M. Cates and Maveric M. Cates, both of Odessa, Texas. Monte also left a host of nephews and nieces.

       Graveside services will be held at the New Dublin Cemetery in
       Dublin, Texas, Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Joe
       Fincher of Waxachie, Texas, and Jim Cates of Midland officia-
       ting.
       In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Teen Challenge of the Permian Basin, P.O. Box 251, Midland,
       Texas 79702 or 432-687-0348.
       Services are entrusted to Pipkin Funeral Home. Family mes-
