Prentice Frank Thorne

LIVINGSTON - Graveside services for Prentice Frank Thorne, 67, were held Friday, April 18, 2003, from Concord Cemetery in Leon County, with the Rev. George Dodson officiating. Mr. Thorne died Wednesday, April 16, in Falls Community Hospital in Marlin. He was born Feb. 9, 1936 in Bangs, the son of N. E. and Annie May Munselle Thorne. He married Mary Catherin Thorne on Jan. 24, 1958 in Ft. Worth. Mr. Thorne served in the Marines during the Korean conflict, having attained the rank of corporal. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Everett Thorne and Nigel Thorne and sister, Pat Thorne. Survivors include his wife, Mary Catherin Thorne of Arlington; son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Jeanne Thorne of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Dodson of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Drew and LaDonna Thorne of Arlington; daughter, Rhonda Thorne of Arlington; grandchildren, Michelle, Taylor, Joseph, David, Andrew, Zoe and Mia; brother, Alton Thorne of Calico Rock, Ark. and sisters, Joye Weyenberg of Needville, June Thornton of Frisco and Oleta Ortega of Forest Grove, Ore. Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
