 This Indenture made the twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, between JOHN ELDER and SARAH his wife of the township of Fannet in the County of Franklin and State of Pennsylvania of the one part and SAMUEL LAIRD (Senior) of the township of Fannet Franklin County and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth, that the said JOHN ELDER for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen hundred Dollars money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said
SAMUEL LAIRD the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell to the said SAMUEL LAIRD his heirs and assigns all that Tract of land in Fannet Township aforesaid containing One hundred and three acres and forty one perches and the usual allowance of six per cent for roads, etc.  Bounded by land of MICHAEL RIDER on the South, MATTHEW ELDER on the West, SAMUEL ELDER on the North, and JOSEPH ELDER on the East.  Beginning at a post on SAMUEL ELDER's line South fifteen degrees East fifty four perches to a post thence South sixty two degrees East eighty six and one half perches to a locust thence North twenty eight degrees East twelve perches to a Black Oak thence South sixty two degrees East eighty one perches to a post thence South thirty nine degrees West one hundred and seventy seven perches to a White oak thence North fifteen degrees West one hundred and six perches and one half perch to a post thence North seventy degrees East thirty four and one half perches to a post the place of beginning, the same being conveyed the twelfth day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety one [1791] by the Executors of WILLIAM MOORE deceased to the said JOHN ELDER reference being had to the said Deed of Conveyance will more fully appear together all and singular the rights liberties and immunities buildings improvements and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining.  To have and to hold to the said SAMUEL LAIRD his heirs and assigns forever, and the said JOHN ELDER for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said SAMUEL LAIRD, his heirs and assigns that the said JOHN ELDER the above described tract of land with the appurtenances from and his heirs and from all and every other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.
  In Testimony whereof the said JOHN ELDER and SARAH his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.
