Lough Neagh, county Antrim,
Ireland, where he had previously settled,
to America, about 1730, locating in Paxtang
township, then Lancaster, now Dauphin county,
Pa., on a tract of land near the first ridge of
the Kittochtinny mountains, five miles north
of Harrisburg. He died the 28th of July, 1746, in
Paxtang, and is buried in the old
church grave-yard...."

He married Catherine Buchanan (1769-1813) 15 March 1790.
They had eleven children. He married Sally Hagan 13 February 1816.
They had seven children. James died 15 February 1837 in Perryville,
Pennsylvania.
Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Oklahoma,
Texas and Oregon.
