E. N. ELDER Dies in Denton
Funeral services for Edmond Newton Elder, 72,
403 Mill Street,
who died at 11 p.m. Saturday, were  to be held
in the Central Baptist Church Monday at 3 p.m. after
the body was held in the Schmitz Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
  Elder, a retired machinist, was born in
Griffin, GA, Feb. 15, 1868.
and had lived in Texas 50 years and in Denton 17 years.
He was a membr of the Methodist Church in Marlin.
  Surviving are his wife, who was Miss Ida Smith, to
whom he was married in Spalding County, GA,
Feb. 15, 1906, a brother, B. H. ELDER of Houston,
and five children, Mrs. O.L. Smithers of Los Angeles,
Mrs. M.E. Harris of Dallas, C. R. Elder of Houston,
J.B. ELDER of Fort Worth and Mrs. Joe Normile of Denton.

Fort Worth
James R. Elder, 65 of Fort Worth died Thursday, May 12, in the Jackson Square Nursing Home in Fort Worth.
Mr. Elder was born April 1, 1929, in Denton to James B. Elder and Loraine Nichols Aikman Elder.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean war.
Mr. Elder was a Baptist. He worked for the BO&E Railroad.
Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. in the Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas with
Dr. James W. Singleton officiating. Schmitz-Floyd-Andersen
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise Carr, and his son, Jimmy Dee Elder, both of Chicago;
two sisters, Hazel Sinku Fisher of Fort Worth and Barbara Aikman of Spring; and seven grandchildren.
