Thomas S. Elder
Thomas S. Elder, 78, of 738 Weldon St., Latrobe, died Friday evening in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier.
   Born in Derry Twp., April 6, 1903, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Martha (Sterling) Elder.
   He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a retired employee of Kennametal Inc.
   He is survived by his widow, Ann (Eslary) Elder; three sons, John T. of Latrobe,
with whom he made his home, Donald W. of Huntington Beach, Calif.,
James W. of China Lake, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
   Family will receive friends at the M.S. Hartman Funeral Home, Latrobe,
from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Donald McCoid officiating.
  Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
 

Mrs. Thomas S. Elder
  Mrs. Ann E. Elder, 72, of 1111 Jefferson St., Latrobe, died Thursday, Jan 1, 1987, in Latrobe Area Hospital.
  Born July 15, 1914, In Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Barbara Rema Eslary.
   She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, and its Senior Citizens.
   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Elder, Nov. 27, 1981.
   She is survived by three sons, John T. of Latrobe, Donald W. of Huntingdon Beach, Calif. [moved to MN] ,
and James W. of China Lake, Calif. [deceased 2002]; one brother, Joseph Eslary of Johnstown;
two sisters, Mrs. Julia Gregor of Farmington, W.Va., and Mrs. Mary Novak of Latrobe;
13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
  Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in M.S. Hartman Funeral Home, 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe.
   Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe.
   Interment will follow in Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier Township.
