Nathaniel Moore

2.  Nathaniel2 Moore (Mordicai1) was born in Lincoln County, Kentucky January 16, 1804.   He died January 19, 1874 and is buried in LaPlata, Macon County, Missouri.

He married Mary Polly Wood in Morgan County, Illinois, December 21, 1828. Richard Wood signed an X as his mark for his daughter, Polly, to be married.  Mary was born in Kentucky about 1804.  She is the daughter of Richard Wood and Celia Gregory.

        1834 settled Bird, Macoupin County, Illinois--listed as Mace Moore with Isaac Moore,
                 Jerry Odel, and John Smith.
        1840 Bird, Macoupin County, Illinois--John C Smith, Isaac Moore, Nathaniel Moore and
                 Jeremiah Odel  are together while nereby are Henry Madison, Almira Madison and
                Olive Madison.
        1850 census Morgan County, Illinois
        1860 census Whitehall PO, North of Apple Creek, Greene County, Illinois

Nathaniel and Polly were members of the Charity Baptist Church in Bird, Macoupin County, Illinois. They were received by letter February 1862 and were dismissed by letter April 1862.

They were said to have moved to La Plata, Macon County, Missouri.  Son Henry David married
Mary Jane Ashbaugh in Macon County, Missouri December 26, 1871.
 

Nathaniel Moore and Mary Polly Wood had the following children:

                               May 23, 1850, Morgan County, Illinois

          III.    18. Elizabeth Moore was born about 1832, Illinois, married David Samples,
                               May 23, 1850, Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois.

          IV.    19. Samuel  Moore was born about 1834, Illinois

           V.    20. Martha (Patsey) Moore was born about 1837, Illinois

         VI.     21. Harriet Moore was born about 1839, Illinois

           VII.     22. Mary A Moore was born 1844, Illinois

       VIII.     23. Sarah Jane Moore was born October 9, 1841, Woodson, Morgan, County,
                                Illinois

          IX..    24. Eliza J Moore was born December 28, 1846, Carlinville, Macoupin County,
                                 Illinois.

           X.     25. Henry David Moore was born January 12, 1849, Morgan County, Illinois

          XI.     26. Julia Moore was born 1853, Whitehall, Greene County, Illinois, married James
                               M. Sparks, November 10, 1870, Macoupin County, Illinois.
