Izaac Waters

    Izaac Waters13 was born 1750 in Pomfret, Yorkshire, England.  He married Kitty Hawker14 by 1769. Kitty was born in England. In 1769 Izaac and Kitty emigrated from Yorkshire to Baltimore, MD, USA. In 1777 Isaac Waters bought a 100-acre tract of land in Frederick County, MD from Samuel Hawker. In 1778 Izaac, Nancy, Zachariah and William Waters signed the "Oath of Fidelity & Support" to the Colony of MD (renouncing allegiance to the King of England), along with neighbors surnamed Hawker and Adamson. (Oath signed in Montgomery County, MD.)
    An Isaac Waters (along with 28 other Waters men) served in the VA Navy.  An Isaac Waters was awarded 2,66 acres for service as a boatswain in the VA Navy.
    In 1790 Isaac and Martha Waters sold the 105-acre tract bought in 1777-- now located in Montgomery County, MD. In 1795 Isaac Waters witnessed a deed in Berkeley County, VA. The "Great Wagon Road" led south through Berkeley County, VA into NC, whence it was extended west and northward as the "Wilderness Road" in 1775.  By 1778 a branch of the Wilderness Road led west to Stanford, seat of Lincoln County, KY. Izaac and Kitty emigrated to Bourbon County, KY, thence to Lincoln County, KY.
    On March 13, 1798 Izaac Waters bought a tract of land in Lincoln County, KY from Thomas Sloan. In 1799 Isaac (and Joseph) Waters first appeared on a KY tax list--Lincoln County, KY.  Adamson Waters appeared in 1800; John Waters 1791; Nathan Waters 1807; Samuel Waters 1801; Martha Waters 1805; Patey Waters 1803.  1800 "Second Census" of KY showed Adamson, Isaac, John and Joseph Waters living in Lincoln Co, KY.
    In 1808 Isaac died in Lincoln County, KY.  In 1818 Izaac's heirs signed a deed to his property, 52+ acres on the Hanging Fork River in Lincoln County, KY (This was probably after the death of his wife, their mother.)
