Kenneth Merrill Holt, son of Clarence Kenneth Holt and Lois May Holdridge, born in New London, Conn. A graduate of Stonington High School, Stonington, Conn., June 1966. Worked for Leipold Tool and Die Co., of Pawcatuck, Conn. Served in the United States Air Force from May 1968 to May 1972. Kenneth died on July 7, 1973 from a motorcycle accident. He left a child Kenneth Armon Hold, born Dec. 24, 1973. Mother Beatrix Robert.

MR. AND MRS. NOREN
Wedding vows were exchanged recently in Danielson between Pattie Ann Ducat and Carl Edwin Noren. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Leroy Ducat of Cady Street, Danielson and the late Mrs. Anita Ducat. Parents of the groom are Mrs. and Mrs. Edwin St. Pierre, Jr. of David Road, Plainfield.
The couple were married at the home of the brides parents followed by a folk mass in St. James Church. Rev. Emile Dusseault officiated.
The bride chose a gown of white silk organza fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline and long sheer sleeves. The bodice enhanced with Venise lace daisies and the full skirt, encircled with a deep ruffle, flowed into a chapel length train. For her headpiece she wore a Camelot cap from which fell a multi-tier veil of illusion edged in Venise lace.
Maid of honor was Cecile Ducat of Danielson. The bridesmaids were Donna Ducat and Jeanne Augar, also both of Danielson.
Best Man was Michael Fortin of Plainfield with guests ushered by Bruce Bouley of Plainfield and Wayne Ducat of Danielson.
Following a reception in the church hall, the couple left on a wedding trip to Washington, DC. They will reside in Pomfree Center.
The bride a 1973 graduate of Killingly High School, attended Quinebaug Valley Community College. She is a press operator at Delta Rubber Co. in Danielson.
Mr. Noren graduated in 1973 from Plainfield High School in 1974 from Thames Valley State Techinical College. He is a senior draftsman of the Delta Rubber Co.PLAINFIELD MAN HIT BY CAR, DIES
A Plainfield man was killed Thursday evening when he apparently ran into the path of a car on Pomfret Street.
Carl Noren, 42, of 78 Canterbury Road, was pronounced dead on arrival at Day Kimball Hospital a short time after the 6:30 accident.
Putnam police, who released few details of the accident, said the car was driven by Richard Coderre, 55, of Munyan Road, Putnam. He was headed west on Pomfret Street (Route 44).
The accident happened a short distance east of the hospital, near the bottom of the section of road commonly known as "Hospital Hill."
Police said they have closed their investigation and no charges will be lodged against the driver.CARL E. NOREN, JR., 42, of Plainfield, died on June 19, 1997. Husband for 19 years of Pattie (Ducat) Noren, father of Kenneth Noren and Matthew Noren, both of Plainfield, son of Lois (Holdridge) (Noren) St. Pierre and stepson of Edwin St. Pierre of Plainfield. He attended Waterford schools before his family moved to Plainfield. Mr. Noren graduated from Plainfield High in 1973 and then studied mechanical drafting at Thames Valley State Technical College in Norwich. In 1974 he joined Delta Rubber as a tooling engineer, working there for 19 years. He enjoyed computers, was an avid golfer and often ran in road races. Mr. Noren was a member of the Pachaug Outdoor Club. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson.
Carl married Pattie Ann DUCAT [scrapbook], daughter of Leroy DUCAT and Anita, on 25 Nov 1977 in Danielson, Connecticut. Pattie was born 7 Nov 1955.
WIDOW ESTABLISHES SCHOLARS

NORWICH--The widow of former Three Rivers Community Technical College student Carl Noren recalls that receiving scholarships meant a lot to her husband.
"He received five scholarships in two years," Pattie Noren of Plainfield said of her husband.
As an adult returning to college, receiving the scholarships helped bolster his confidence she said.
With that in mind, she has established a new scholarship in her husband's honor for Mechanical Engineering Technology students at the college.
Philip Cote Sr. of Franklin was chosen as the first recipent of the $300 scholarshiop.
"I wasn't expecting it," Cote said. "It is really an honor.
Cote, 47, returned to college the spring of 1997. He expect to complete his studies in the summer of 1999.
Carl Noren obtained a two year certificate in mechanical engineering technology from Thames Valley State Technical College in 1974, shortly after graduating from high school.
After working for 19 years he decided to further his education and returned to his alma matter, now Three Rivers -- as a part time student.
Noren was an avid runner and golfer. He died in June at the age of 42.
Besides his wife he left two sons, Ken, 17 and Mathew 16.
Pattie Noren said she hopes to make the scholarship an annual gift.
