He married Lydia Sheffield, died in 1889, daughter of George and Rhode (Burch) Sheffield, direct descendant of the first moderator of the first Town Meeting in Portsmouth, RI.
    George Washington Crumb stayed in Rhode Island, and his descendants have continued to live in New England.  13 children in all, many died in infancy.

George married Lydia SHEFFIELD, daughter of George SHEFFIELD and Rhoda BURCH. Lydia died 1883 in Rhode Island.

    David's will (copy on file in town Clerk's office in North Stonington) dated 1863, leaves his affection of Eliza Cook, Amelia Case, Wheeler Crumb, Susan A. Champlin, and his personal property to children of Albert T. and his real estate to Palmer, Franklin H. and Albert Crumb. As Lucy is not mentioned, she probably died before 1863. Children by first wife, born in North Stonington.

    Palmer Crumb moved from New York State to Wisconsin after his son, Hiram, settled there. Palmer was an Ensign in the War of 1812, from Chenango Co., NY.

Palmer married Lucy HOWARD, daughter of Smith HOWARD and Rhoda BABBETT. Lucy was born 1799 in Saquoit, Oneida Co., New York.

381. Captain Barber PECKHAM (Timothy , Reuben , Timothy , John , John ) was born about 1757 in South Kingston, Kings Co., Rhode Island. He died 7 May 1807 in the Newport Harbor, Newport Co., Rhode Island, by drowning.

    Captain Barber Peckham was born at South Kingston, RI, about 1756: was drowned in Newport Harbor 7 May 1807; married first Elizabeth Wistcott, who was born about 1760 and died at Block Island in 1792; married second in 1793, January, Sarah Sheffield, born 1767, a cousin of his first wife. Both were granddaughters of Jeeremiah Gardner.
    In 1791 Barber Peckham sold land in Mumford, Mass., his wife Elizabeth, signing the deed with him. In 1802 he sold his property at South Kingston, RI, the deed describing him as of Freetown, Mass. and signed only by himself. He seems, however, to have lived most of his life at South Kingston, and from that place his Revolutionary services are recorded. He served through the whold war, the following being a list of the dates of his enrollments:

    He was a Revolutionary pensioner, as was also his widow, Sarah Sheffield, who applied for a pension March 14, 1839 at which time her age was given as 72 years, her residence as New Shoreham, RI, that her maiden name was Sarah Sheffield, and that she married Barber Peckham at South Kingston, RI, in June 1793,k the exact day not being recalled by her. He was a blacksmith.

Barber married (1) Elizabeth WILCOX about 1785 in Rhode Island. Elizabeth was born about 1760. She died 1792 in Block Island, Newport Co., Rhode Island.
