   Robert Morrison married Mary Jane McCullough March 13, 1862. She was 22 and he was 25. She was born November 5, 1839 the year after her parents arrived in Butler County, Ohio in 1839 from Ireland. They  moved to Indiana in 1847 - to the farm which later was known as the Carl Glick farm - east of Newbern, Indiana. Mary Jane was 7 years old.
    Mary Jane McCullough's father was Henry McCullough, who had married Elizabeth Gaddis, and both of them were born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and came to America in 1838. They located in Butler County, Ohio, then in 1847 moved to Indiana.

MORRISON, Mary J.
    Born Butler County, Ohio, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth McCullough, died Wednesday at Hartsville, age 82. She married in 1861 to Robert Morrison who died in 1881. She lived in Newbern and Hartsville since 1894, a resident of Bartholomew County since eleven years old. Surviving are children, Dr J. H. Morrison, William [Morrison] and Charles [Morrison] at home, Dr C. C. Morrison of Greensburg, daughters Mrs Elizabeth Marr, Mrs Alice Essex, both of Columbus and Mrs Mattie Glick of Newbern; a sister Mrs Elizabeth [McCullough] Dickey; two brothers, Robert [McCullough] and Henry McCullough of east of Columbus. Funeral service was Friday at the home with burial at Garland Brook.

   Robert Morrison, was born December 18, 1836 in County Down, Ireland, about 12 miles from Belfast and 1 mile from Bangor on the Irish Sea. He came to America with his parents in 1852 when he was approximately 15 1/2 years old. They came to Clifty Township, Bartholomew County, not far from Columbus, Indiana. They first lived in Howcreek Township near Rugby. It was once the McEwen farm - but now owned by Joe Burney.
    Robert Morrison married Mary Jane McCullough March 13, 1862. She was 22 and he was 25. He died at age 44 years and 4 months of pneumonia, and left Mary Jane with the family of 9 to raise.

    In Bartholomew County: early to late 1800s: need information about David Dickey and his ancestors. David m. Elizabeth (McCullough) Dickey, (b. 23 Jan. 1843), dau. of Henry McCullough, (b. 16 Oct. 1809 in Ireland and d. 25 July 1893) and Elizabeth (Gaddis) Dickey, (b. Aug. 1811, also in Ireland, d. abt. 13 Feb. 1889). David and Elizabeth had three children: Jeanette b. 1877, Richard Johnson b. 1879, and Mary (Ross)b. ??? Richard Johnson Dickey m. Hazel (Gysie) Dickey in 1904, daughter of John and Mary (Thomas) Gysie. Hazel was the sister of Estelle (Gysie) Henderson, Inez (Gysie) Cox, and Nellie. Richard Johnson Dickey and Hazel Gysie Dickey were my grandparents. They had 2 children: John and Robert McCullough (b. 4 Oct. 1909)--my father.

Elizabeth married David DICKEY on 11 Apr 1867 in Bartholomew Co., Indiana. David was born in Ireland. He died before 1900.

    WILLIAM DICKEY, farmer, Rock Creek Township, is a native of Scotland, born in Stirlingshire December 1, 1831, a son of William and Elizabeth (Bennett) Dickey, who were natives of the same country. The father was a son of Robert and Margaret (Bayne) Dickey, and the mother of our subject was a daughter of William Bennett. In 1849 the father came to America and located in Knox. County, Ohio, and the following year the remainder of the family followed him, taking seven weeks to come from Glasgow to New York. For six weeks they were out of sight of land, and at one time the sea was so rough that the steerage passengers were sent below and the hatches closed. Of the five children born to the parents of our subject only two are living. William Dickey, whose name heads this sketch, was reared in his native country, remaining there until about nineteen years of age, when he crossed the ocean with his father's family. After coming to America he worked as a laborer for two years, after which he spent two years in Ohio at boilermaking. He then came to Indiana, and followed boiler-making at Fort Wayne for two years, then was in the employ of a railroad company for six years. October 29, 1858, he was married to Miss Margaret Gordon, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Smith) Gordon, natives of Roxburyshire, Scotland, who came to the United States in 1854. They are the parents of five children—William, Thomas, Jannett, Elizabeth and Robert. In 1863 Mr. Dickey came with his family to Wells County, Indiana, and settled on a farm of eighty acres of partially cleared land on section 28, Rock Creek Township, where he has since followed farming, and now has his land under fine cultivation. He had purchased this land two years before coming to the county. Since becoming a resident of Rock Creek Township he has served as justice of the peace four years. Politically he affiliates with the Republican party. The father of Mr. Dickey died at his home in Wells County in April, 1876, at the age of seventy-three years. The mother died in Ohio.

McCullough of Union City, Indiana; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral service was Tuesday at the home with burial at Garland Brook cemetery, Columbus.

McCullough, January 23, 1889 and he survives along with 3 sons, Arthur and Harry McCullough of Bartholomew County and Charles McCullough of Union City; 2 brothers, Simeon Boaz of east of Columbus and Mignon Boaz of Hope. 2 brothers are deceased, Asa and Charles Boaz. Funeral service was Monday at the home with burial at Garland Brook cemetery in Columbus.

I, too, am a descendant of Abnego Boaz and Fannie Matthews through their daughter Agnes Boaz who married Joshua Sims. They moved to Flatrock, Bartholomew Co. from Tenn. in 1820.
We are still trying to find out where Thomas Boaz came from,- any ideas? We know his wife Elinor Archdeacon came from County Kilkenny, Ireland, but we have no idea where they married. This is a real brick wall. Gillian
