    Mary M. McNeal, 90, of 740 Mt. Vernon in Marion, Ohio died at 3:10 p.m. Sunday at the Marion General Hospital. She was a native of Columbus and the sister of Clyde M. Marr of 2900 Washington.
    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel where persons may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
    The family requests memorials be made to the Bartholomew County Historical Society.
    Mrs. McNeal was born May 13, 1899, in Columbus, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Morrison Marr. She was married to Frank S. McNeal June 17, 1916, in Columbus, and he died Jan. 19, 1966.
    Mrs. Marr [McNeal] was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Marion and Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
    Other survivors include a son, H. Marr McNeal of Mentor, Ohio, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

F.S. McNEAL, RETIRED INDUSTRIALIST HERE, DIES.
    Frank S. McNeal, 77, a retired Marion industrialist, died at 12:45 a.m. today in General Hospital. He had been critically ill only a few days.
    Coming to Marion in 1939 from Detroit when the Universal Cooler Corp. was moved here, he served as president of that firm, then was president of the old Marion Glass Co. Earlier in his career he had been associated with the Universal Cooler Corp. in Canada. He has been listed in "Who's Who in Commerce and Industry."
    During World War I, in Washington, D.C., he helped develop and manufacture the first bomb dropped from the air by the pioneer U.S. Army Air Corps.
    Born July 21, 1888, in Columbus, Indiana, he was a son of Alonson and Lovie Swisher McNeal. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a long time member of Rotary Club.
    Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Marr McNeal whom he married June 17, 1916, in Columbus; a son, H. Marr McNeal of Mentor; two grandchildren; a sister in Indiana, Mrs. Emma K. Newby of Columbus, and a brother Jesse, also of Columbus.
    Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Hughes-Hyll Mortuary. Rev. Irvin W. Emmons will officiate. Burial will be in garland Brook Cemetery at Columbus Saturday. Friends may call at the funeral home after Thursday noon.

EDWARDS ON BANK BOARD; MARR OFF
    Clyde M. Marr of 2900 Washington has retired from the board of First National Bank of Columbus after 36 years. Norman R. Edwards of 3437 Woodland was elected to take Marr's place at the annual board meeting Tuesday.
    Marr, 82, is a retired farmer and first was named to the board in January, 1938. He recalls that the bank's assets have grown from about one million dollars at that time to "a little over" 40 million dollars now.
    He said banking is pretty much the same as it was when he began on the board, except that now most bookkeeping is done by computer.
    He said checking accounts were available then but service charges were not made, and he said there were personal loan departments in banks at that time. He never worked in the bank, he said.
    Marr and his wife, the former Cornelia Morris, live in the large white brick house on North Washington Street, thought to be about 108 years old, and have lived there since 1928. Marr was born in Columbus township but was raised "out east of town," he said.
    He also is retired as director of Farmers Marketing Association, and he and his wife are members of the First Christian Church.

CLYDE MARR DIES, GRANDSON OF PIONEER FAMILY
    Clyde M. Marr, 96, of Washington Street, who spent 36 years as a director of First National Bank of Columbus, died Tuesday at Bartholomew County Hospital.
    Marr, a retired farmer, was the grandson of James Marr, one of the pioneer settlers in the county.
    He first was elected a director of First National Bank in 1938, the same year Francis M. Overstreet was elected to head the bank.
    Marr also had served many years as a director of Farmers Marketing Association and of the Bartholomew County Farm Bureau.
    He was a graduate of Columbus High School and attended Wabash College. Marr was a member of First Christian Church, Kappa Sigma fraternity, a life member of Elks lodge and a charter member of Harrison Lake Country Club.
    Marr and his wife, Cornelia, lived since 1928 in a white brick house on north Washington Street, a house thought to be about 120 years old.
    Funeral service will be conducted by Myers Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel with the Rev. Dallas J. Collier and the Rev. Harold E. Armstrong officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
    Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Historical Society.
    Born Dec. 4, 1891, in Bartholomew County and raised east of Columbus, Marr was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Morrison Marr. He married Cornelia Morris on Oct. 28, 1920, in Columbus, and she survives.
    Other survivors include a daughter, Cynthia R. Marr of Columbus; three sons, John M. Marr of Tallahassee, Fla., Henry M. Marr of Columbus and Clyde M. Marr, Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a nephew, H. Marr McNeal of Sun City Center, Florida.

MARR-MORRIS WEDDING
    Notable among the nuptial events of October was the marriage of Miss Cornelia Little Morris, younger daughter of Mrs. May Reeves Morris, and the late Dr. John L. Morris, and Clyde Morrison Marr, only son of Mrs. Elizabeth Marr and the late Henry Marr, which took place last night at the home of the bride's mother on north Washington street. The ceremony was performed at 8:30 o'clock by the Rev. Z. T. Sweeney, pastor emeritus of the Tabernacle Christian church. In the presence of approximately seventy five of the immediate relatives. The ring service was used in receiving the vows and the ceremony was most impressive.
    While the guests were assembling Montani, harpist, of Indianapolis, in a screened nook in the hall, played a varied program of wedding music.
    The first parlor was reserved for the ceremony and the appointments were in green and white. The east end of the room was banked with palms and ferns. Amid the greenery were two white candelabra with white tapers. There were tall cathedral candles and on either side of the floral alter were throughout the rooms a high handled French baskets filled with white chrysanthemums. Back of the alter were wall pockets filled with the fluffy white blossoms and the mantel was banked with greenery. In the living room masses of bright autumn leaves were used with yellow chrysanthemums, and in the music room there were pink chrysanthemums in French baskets relieving banks of autumn leaves. The stairway was hidden with the foliage which was used extensively in the hall. The chandeliers throughout the rooms were draped with feathery smilax.
    The "Bridal Chorus From Lohengrin." announced the coming of the bridal party, who entered from the library. The attendants were Miss Elizabeth Reeves, Miss Mildred Marr, Ransom D. Perry and Frank S. McNeal. Misses Reeves and Marr came first and formed an aisle with white satin ribbons for the bridal party. The officiating clergyman came in alone and was followed by the bride and bridegroom, who came in together, followed by Mr. Perry and Mr. McNeal.
    Just before the ceremony Mrs. Chester Kitzinger, accompanied by Mr. Kitzinger, violinist, and Miss Mildred Brown, pianist, sang three beautiful numbers: "Because," "For You Alone," and "Possession." and during the ceremony "Oh Promise Me," and other bridal airs were played by the harpist.
    The bride was lovely in a gown of white satin and georgette crepe with pearl and rhinestone trimmings. The long wedding veil was caught with a wreath of orange blossoms and the bridal bouquet was orchids and sweetheart roses, with a shower of lilies of the valley. She also wore the bridegroom's gift, a platinum bracelet set with diamonds. Miss Reeves wore a lavender silk and her flowers were La France roses, and Miss Marr, a pink silk and her bouquet was Ophelia roses.
    After the ceremony and congratulations dainty refreshments of cream cake and mints were served. The appointments in the dining room were in pink and white and the ices and confections were in bridal designs.
    For the bride's table there was a beautiful two tier wedding cake with a center bouquet of pink rosebuds, veiled in tulle and resting on a double mound of pink roses, sweet peas and maidenhair fern. Broad bands of white satin ribbon and smilax were drawn from the dome to the four corners of the table. Small vases held pink rosebuds and many white tapers in crystal holders lent a soft light. The favors were tiny French baskets filled with dainty forget-me-nots tied with white ribbon.
    Mr. and Mrs. Marr left last night for a motor trip but did not state their destination, and the "at home" announcement is after December 1 on the Marr homestead, southeast of the city. To travel in Mrs. Marr wore a blue coat suit.
    The bride's gifts to Misses Marr and Reeves were bar pins and to Mrs. Kitzinger and Miss Brown cuff pins. The bridegroom's gifts to his attendants were dress suit sets, to Mr. Kitzinger a gold knife, and the bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold watch chain and knife.
    Mr. Marr is a scientific farmer and after completing the high school course he attended Wabash College and is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. His bride is a graduate of Tudor Hall, Indianapolis, and afterward was a student at Oakmire, Mamaronick, N.Y., and also at Finchis in New York City. She is also a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.
    Those who came for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Reeves and Mr. and Mrs. Tom S. Elrod and family, of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. McNeal, of Kokomo; Carl Reeves, of Detroit, Michigan, and Bernard McBride, of Seymour.

    Born April 27, 1899, in Columbus, Mrs. Marr was the daughter of Dr. John L. and Grace May Reeves Morris. She married Clyde M. Marr on Oct. 28, 1920, in Columbus. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1988.
    She was a member of the First Christian Church, a 50-year-member of Psi Iota Xi sorority, and had been a Grey Lady at Camp Atterbury during World War II. A graduate of Tudor Hall in Indianapolis, she attended Finch College in New York and was a charter member of Harrison Lakes Country Club.
    Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia R. Marr of Columbus; three sons, John M. Marr of Tallahassee, Fla., Henry M. Marr of Columbus, and Clyde M. Marr Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister Henrietta Swope of Columbus; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a grandson.
