ELIZABETH BONNER
     Elizabeth (York) Bonner, 88, beloved wife of Donald R. Bonner of 30 Avondale Road, Westerly, died Sunday morning, Oct. 7, 2001, at The Westerly Hospital.
     Born in Watch Hill on May 21, 1913, a daughter of the late Edmund Potter and Mabel Agnes (Holberton) York, she was a direct descendent of James York, who settled in Stonington in 1635.
     Mrs. Bonner was the treasurer of Bonner Monument Co. for many years before retiring. She was a 1931 graduate of Westerly High School, and a 1935 graduate of Rhode Island State College, now the University of Rhode Island. She was also a member of Deborah Chapter No. 7, Order of the Eastern Star.
     In addition to her husband of 63 years, she leaves one daughter, Gail Bonner of Westerly and Edgewood, R.I.; two nieces and one nephew.
     Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Avondale Chapel, Avondale Road, Westerly. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in River Bend Cemetery. Arrangements by The Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, 121 Main St., Westerly.
