Be it Remembered, That on the 5th day of February AD, one thousand eight hundred and eighty nine (1889), James Bonner personally appeared before Wm Hoxsey Dep., Clerk of the said Court of Common Pleas, within and for the County of Washington, in the State aforesaid, being a Court of Record, and on oath made the following Declaration:
I, James Bonner of Westerly in the County of Washington and State aforesaid, on oath declare that I was born in Scottland in the year 1852 and arrived in the United States in the year 1882 that it ios Bona-fide my intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, State or sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom I am a subject, so help me God.
