    NORWICH - Ethel Frances Browning, 77, of Plain Hill Road died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital.
    She was born April 14, 1923, in Norwich, a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Mowrey) Patridge.
    On Aug. 30, 1941, in Norwichtown (Beanhill), she married her husband of 59 years, Charles C. Browning.
    Mrs. Browning was a devoted wife and homemaker who enjoyed reading, crocheting, baking, traveling and her winters in Florida.
    She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Norwichtown.
    Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jeanette C. McNeeley of Franklin and Harriet A. Phillips of Canterbury; one brother, Robert Partridge of Franklin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Her brothers, Charles, Richard and Howard Partridge, predeceased her.
    A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at the first Congregational Church, 81 E. town St., Norwichtown. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Flower Fund at the First Congregational Church. The Church and Allen Funeral Home, 138 Sachem St. is in charge of arrangements.

    Emmett "Mickey" Reedy, 62, of 15 Sun Lane, Niantic, died Saturday evening at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.
    He was born in Osawatomie, Kansas Nov. 14, 1928, son of Elsie Ratlier Reedy Graham of Neosho Rapids, Kan., and the late Emmett F. Reedy. He had lived in Niantic for more than 30 years.
    Mr. Reedy was a self-employed electrician in the Niantic area. He retired from the U.S. Navy, serving over 20 years.
    Mr. Reedy married Ruth Benjamin, June 16, 1951.
    In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include two sons, Lary Reedy of Mission Viejo, Calif., three daughters, Linda Littlefield and Rhonda Neilson, both of Waterford and Theresa Reedy of Niantic; a brother, Eugene Reedy of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildrens.
    He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Reedy.
    The Fulton-Therous Funeral Home, 13 Lake Ave., Niantic, is in charge of arrangements.

    Alder has lived in Norwich, Conn. all his life, attended high at Norwich Free Acadamy and graduated in 1953. He met his wife, Joan Elizabeth Roberts, in high school and were married December 9, 1935.
    Al is now retired from Electric Boat Co., Division of General Dynamics Corp. He was a draftsman for 30 years and an Estimator for 11 years.
    He has always done things on the side. He resilvered antique mirrors and repaired antique furniture and now he is as his wife Joan says "he's in business for myself FULL TIME."
