The following is a Directory of our current web pages. We have plans to add more in the future.
1) A Brief History of the two primary Sarsfield Families in Ireland. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~n1b2sarsfield/sarsfield_history
This is an 18 page history of the two main Sarsfield families in Ireland from their arrival in the late 12th century through to the 20th century. It includes many well-known, and often bloody, events in the history of Ireland that involved the Sarsfield families.
2) Sarsfield Family Coats of Arms. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~n1b2sarsfield/sarsfield_arms
This is a small collection of Coats of Arms and Blazons adopted by members of the Sarsfield Family over several centuries. Each one would have been approved by the English College of Heralds. The collection is far from complete, and will be added to as more are discovered.
Although in one case a name is shown, we have insufficient evidence at present to definitely attribute any particular Coat of Arms to a particular family member, therefore we have refrained from adding a name to any of the other pictures. One exception is a Blazon of which there is evidence that it did belong to Patrick Sarsfield, 1st. Earl of Lucan.
Unfortunately, some reproductions are of less than good quality, having been hand-drawn, copied or photographed from an original perhaps several times.
3) The Name Sarsfield. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~n1b2sarsfield/sarsfield_name
A world-wide collection of some instances, with a brief 'biography', of naming significant places etc., with the name Sarsfield. These range from a Community in Canada to a US Navy destroyer; from a railway station, soccer club and sports stadium in Argentina to a plantation in Maine, a mansion in South Carolina and a number of American Civil War regiments, and others.
4) Not yet uploaded: The Family Trees of the two Main Sarsfield Families in Ireland. The trees are currently available from the authors as GedCom files and they wil be uploaded as soon as a major review is completed. A notice will be posted in the RootsWeb Review when this has been done, as will news of any additional Pages and updates from this Project.
