Sage's Will Close More Branches

San Bernardino-All Sage's stores named in a court order signed by Federal Bankruptcy Referee William Hyer Wednesday will be closed by Jan. 31, an attorney for the financially trouble market chain confirmed yesterday.

Hyer's order authorized court appointed controller Irving Sumeyer to close the stores and conduct "going out of business sales , but could not be immediately learned if the stores around actually close.

Yesterday however Norman L. Hanover, attorney for Sage's Complets Markets, said the stores named would be closed by Jan. 31,Unless somebody comes along and buys them to keep them open.

"We do not plan to keep them open beyond Jan.31,"Hanover said.

Hyer's order authorized closure of three of the remaining five marjor markets in the chain as well as the smaller facilities,several of which have already shut their doors.

The stores named on the order include the Rialto Market, the Del Rosa market in San Bernardino, the Magnolia Market in Riverside,the Base Line Toy Store ,the Del Rosa toy store,the Redlands toy store, the Bakers and Thrift store number two in Fontana.

Remaining in operation are markets in San Bernardino,Base Line and Redlands and "minute shops" in Rialto and San Bernardino

The chain filed for organization under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Act last May.
